Education is an issue that raises concerns in all societies. Each civilisation has its own unique take on this important subject. There is agreement in some areas and disagreement in others. However, everyone now recognises that education is essential for producing quality citizens, promoting development and defining the social model. The Muslim civilisation claims to educate people on moderation and the path of a happy medium, which has now been hijacked by the extremists. Islam considers that a successful eduction is one that creates a balanced, competent and virtuous citizen. This model remains to be clarified.
